This year we are doing things slightly different, we won't be having a set Christmas menu as such but instead having lots of yummy festive specials on our every day menu throughout December for you to choose from.
To start to get you in the Christmas mood we thought we'd tease you with our special festive dishes that will be appearing on our menu come December alongside your pub favourites:
Starters
Panko crusted black pudding, potato & sage terrine with a soft poached hens’ egg, chorizo hollandaise and dressed watercress
Chestnut, confit onion & mushroom pithivier, Jerusalem artichoke puree, crispy sage leaves and candied walnuts (v,vg)
Cider & white onion soup with gruyère cheese and apple croute (v, gfo)
King prawn & smoked salmon cocktail with bloody Mary Marie Rose sauce, baby gem, pickled cucumber, and toasted focaccia croutes (gfo)
Mains
Traditional roast turkey crown, pancetta wrapped chestnut, cranberry & Bramley apple stuffing,
garlic & rosemary roasted potatoes, honey roasted parsnips & carrots, sprouts & pancetta, with rich pan gravy (gfo)
Slow braised ox cheek in Guinness with a spinach & herb crust, warmed pickled red cabbage, crispy curly kale, caramelised shallot & parsley polenta cake, rich Guinness gravy
Parsnip, sage & chestnut nut roast, curried butternut squash puree, garlic and herb roasted potatoes, tenderstem broccoli and parsnip crisps (v,vg)
Pan fried red snapper, saffron, pancetta, chive & cheddar hash cake, charred braised fennel, with mussel & lobster bisque sauce (gf)
Desserts
Traditional Christmas pudding, with winter fruits and warm vanilla brandy sauce
Coconut & lemon mousse, with candied citrus fruits and orange tuille biscuit (vg,gfo)
Dark chocolate & salted caramel tart with honeycomb, caramelised hazelnuts, toffee sauce and whipped vanilla cream
Selection of cheese & biscuits served with crackers, celery, grapes, apple and winter fruit chutney (gfo)

Large Party Bookings
Our online booking system will allow bookings for a maximum of 8 people. If you would like to book for more than this then please give the pub a call on 0151 342 5535 to discuss your requirements.

We will happily suggest some options for wines and champagnes if you would like to organise these in advance of your party, please just ask if you want some help choosing!

Tuesday 31st December (New Years Eve) – BAR 12-1am with live music from 9pm (ticket required from 7pm) / FOOD 12-9pm
