Join us at The Jug & Bottle this December for a fantastic festive celebration. Christmas is a time to relax, have fun and catch up with friends and family, so why not do all of this over a delicious meal? With our festive guest ales, mulled wine and christmas treats, the Jug really does get that Christmas sparkle in the atmosphere!
Our 3 course Christmas menu has been carefully created to include some new and exciting dishes alongside the traditional Christmas favourites.
Our Christmas menu will run from Friday 27th November to Tuesday 22nd December 2020 alongside our normal menu.
Cointreau infused goose liver paté with toasted Henllan bloomer bread, candied orange salad and a plum & star anise chutney (gfo)
Lightly spiced celeriac & sweet potato soup with truffle oil and walnut crumb served with a freshly baked malted bread roll and butter (gfo)
Confit potted pork shoulder with clove and fennel seed served with spiced apple chutney and brioche loaf
Steamed Menai mussels in a smoky bacon, creamed leek and mulled cider sauce (gfo)
Cranberry, brie & chestnut tart on a tomato balsamic rocket salad
All mains are served with roast potatoes, glazed carrots, fine green beans and buttered sprouts
Traditional roast turkey crown served with an apricot and sage stuffing, pigs in blankets, parsnip crisps and pan roasted gravy (gfo)
Slow braised feather blade of beef, cranberry & red wine sauce with port pickled red cabbage and steamed kale (gf)
Duo of Gressingham duck, five spice pan roasted breast & confit Peking duck croquette with hoisin sauce, roasted carrot and swede,
toasted sesame pak choi and spring onions
Pan fried fillet of sea bass served on pomegranate & pistachio pearl barley risotto with samphire and lemon dill butter (gfo)
Wild mushroom gnocchi with roasted butternut squash, spinach and asparagus in a whiskey & parsnip cream sauce (v)
Traditional Christmas pudding with vanilla pod brandy sauce
Limoncello & raspberry parfait served with Chantilly cream, almond brittle and a blueberry dust (gf)
Spiced rum & poached pear blackberry crumble with stem ginger ice cream (gfo)
Baileys, dark chocolate & mint tart served with cherry sorbet
A selection of cheese and biscuits: Brie, Blacksticks blue stilton, Wensleydale & cranberry, and a spiced red chilli cheddar
served with celery, grapes, apple and a winter fruit chutney (gfo) (£2.50 supplement)

Booking is required when dining from our Christmas menu along with a pre-order no less than 14 days before dining. Christmas party bookings must be made by telephone or in person ONLY, they cannot be booked through our online system. Please call 0151 342 5535 to check availability and book your table now.
Minimum party size – Minimum party size for those wishing to dine off our Christmas menu is 4 people.
Maximum party size – At Christmas we appreciate that a large percentage of our bookings are festive parties and therefore would normally have more than 6 people on a table. Due to current government guidelines, we will happily take your booking in anticipation that rules will change by December 2020 however if the current guidelines still remain in place by then we will have to split the party onto tables of a maximum of 6 people.
A pre-order is required no less than 14 days before dining. A non refundable deposit of £10 per head is required at the point of booking. Please return the pre-order form to email@example.com or pop it into the pub.
