Christmas celebrations

Christmas this year is more special than ever, catching up with friends, family and loved ones on time missed over the last couple of years.  As always, there’ll be a lively and friendly atmosphere full of festive cheer making it the perfect place for your Christmas meal.

Our delicious 2 or 3 course menu oozes festive flavours combining all things traditional along with some new and original dishes.

Our Christmas menu will run from Friday 26th of November until Thursday 23rd of December 2021 alongside our normal menu.

Christmas Menu

Starters

Cointreau infused goose liver paté with toasted Henllan bloomer bread, candied orange salad and plum & star anise chutney (gfo)
Lightly spiced celeriac & sweet potato soup with truffle oil and walnut crumb served with a freshly baked malted bread roll and butter (gfo)
Bourbon glazed belly pork and confit pork bon bon infused with fennel with spiced apple purée and crispy crackling
Steamed Menai mussels in a smoky bacon, creamed leek & mulled cider sauce served with ciabatta (gfo)
Cranberry, brie & chestnut tart on a tomato balsamic rocket salad

Main Course

All mains are served with roast potatoes, glazed carrots, fine green beans and buttered sprouts

Traditional roast turkey crown with apricot & sage stuffing, pigs in blankets, parsnip crisps and pan roasted gravy (gfo)
Guinness infused shin of beef with a rich ale gravy, port pickled cabbage and tenderstem broccoli (gf)
Duo of Gressingham duck five spice pan roasted breast & confit Peking duck croquette with hoisin sauce, roasted carrot and swede, toasted sesame pak choi and spring onions
Pistacchio & herb crusted salmon with beetroot and butternut squash risotto and butted samphire (gfo)
Wild mushroom gnocchi with roasted butternut squash, spinach and asparagus in a whiskey & parsnip cream sauce (v)

Homemade Desserts

Traditional Christmas pudding with vanilla pod brandy sauce
Limoncello panna cotta with a Cointreau syrup, glazed orange and candied fruit (gf)
Spiced rum & poached pear blackberry crumble with stem ginger ice cream (gfo)
Baileys, dark chocolate & mint tart served with cherry sorbet
A selection of cheese and biscuits: Brie, Blacksticks blue stilton, Wensleydale & cranberry, and a spiced red chilli cheddar served with celery, grapes, apple and a winter fruit chutney (gfo) (£2.50 supplement)

Booking & Pre Orders

Booking is required when dining from our Christmas menu along with a pre-order no less than 14 days before dining. Christmas party bookings must be made by telephone or in person ONLY, they cannot be booked through our online system. Please call 0151 342 5535 to check availability and book your table now.

A pre-order is required no less than 14 days before dining.  A non refundable deposit of £10 per head is required at the point of booking.  Please return the pre-order form to christmas@the-jugandbottle.co.uk or pop it into the pub.

Boxing Day

Boxing day is always a busy day in the pub with everyone out and about to continue the festive celebrations.  We will be serving our Sunday menu including our famous roasts as well as some festive specials.  Food will be served from 12pm until 8pm so let us do the hard work and you just sit back and enjoy!  Booking is highly recommended – BOOK ONLINE or 0151 342 5535.
