Christmas celebrations

Join us at The Jug & Bottle this December for a fantastic festive celebration. Christmas is a time to relax, have fun and catch up with friends and family, so why not do all of this over a delicious meal?  With our festive guest ales, mulled wine and christmas treats, the Jug really does get that Christmas sparkle in the atmosphere!

Christmas Menu

Our 3 course Christmas menu has been carefully created by our talented team of chefs to include some new and exciting dishes alongside the traditional Christmas favourites.

Our Christmas menu will run from Friday 1st to Saturday 23rd December 2017 alongside our normal menu.


Spiced sweet potato and red lentil soup with pumpkin seeds (v,gfo)
Cranberry, brie and chestnut filo parcels with apple and ale dip (v)
Brandy infused chicken liver paté with toasted croutes and plum & orange chutney (gfo)
Steamed Menai mussels with smoky bacon, leek and creamy cider sauce (gfo)
Confit pork belly with parsnip purée, spinach salad and crispy crackling (gfo)

Traditional roast turkey crown, cranberry and sage stuffing, pigs ‘n’ blankets and pan roasted gravy (gfo)
Slow braised featherblade of beef in a Guiness and shallot sauce with aniseed infused red cabbage
Pan fried salmon fillet on a prawn and asparagus risotto with lemon & dill butter (gf)
Porcini filled panzerotti pasta with wild mushrooms, butternut squash and whiskey & garlic cream sauce (v)
Confit duo of pheasant with herb roasted celeriac and swede and red wine sauce
All main courses served with duck fat roast potatoes, carrots, green beans and buttered sprouts with bacon

Traditional Christmas pudding served with vanilla pod & brandy sauce
Cinnamon spiced brambly apple and sultana crumble with homemade custard (gf)
Toffee topped panacotta with golden hazelnut dust and caramel drizzle (gf)
Dark chocolate and raspberry torte with Ferrero Rocher ice cream
Selection of cheese and biscuits with red onion chutney, grapes, apple and celery
~ Blacksticks Blue, Somerset brie, Manor Lodge smoked cheddar, goats cheese (£2 supplement)

2 courses – £19.95      3 courses – £24.95

Booking/Pre Orders

Booking is required when dining from our Christmas menu along with a pre-order no less than 14 days before dining.  Christmas party bookings must be made by telephone or in person ONLY, they cannot be booked through our online system.  Please call 0151 342 5535 to check availability and book your table now.  Minimum party size of 6 people.

A non refundable deposit of £10 per head is required to secure the booking.  Please return the pre-order form to or pop it into the pub.
